In 1943 most German cities were under havy air raids of Allied planes, bombing strategic sites of War Industry. Nazi authorities decided to relocate them to safer underground locations. Silesian Industry Society, and later ORGANIZATION “TODT” (responsible for construction of Hitler’s secret headquarter Wolf’s Imir) were ordered to construct a network od enormous underground halls that received mysterious nickname project RIESE (”GIANT”).
